Bankruptcy looms for Sun Capital's Shopko

Sun Capital Partners, the owner of general merchandise chain Shopko Stores, has started preparing for a bankruptcy filing after struggling to find a buyer for the company, according to Bloomberg. Shopko would become the second Sun Capital-backed retailer to go bankrupt in the past two years, following Gordmans Stores. The firm took Shopko private for nearly $1.1 billion in 2005.
