Better out than in? The 6 most active British VCs in the EU

Since July 1, 2014, VC investors from the U.K. have completed a total of 235 deals in other countries that are part of the EU, representing only 11% of the total deals within the area during that time. Of the 20 VCs that have been most active within the "new EU" countries in the past two years, just one (Northzone Ventures) is headquartered in the U.K.
But while British investors are not the major drivers of investment activity on the continent, the effects of the Brexit vote—whatever they may be—will surely spill over into the world of VC. This quarter's deal count provides one data point of what that might look like. So far in 2Q, British investors have executed just 20 investments in other EU nations, down from 34 deals during 1Q and from a recent high of 41 deals during 2Q 2015.
