Bird rides into Paris and Tel Aviv

In its first move into international markets, Bird has launched pilot programs for its electric scooters in Paris and Tel Aviv. The Santa Monica, CA-based company, which debuted in September 2017, has electric scooters in nearly 30 cities across the US. Since it was founded, Bird has raised more than $400 million in venture capital funding, including a $150 million round in June that valued it at $2 billion.
Bird's news comes a little over a month after Lime launched a fleet of electric scooters in Paris as part of a larger international expansion that will have Lime reaching at least 25 new cities by the end of the year. Several other companies, including Uber and Lyft, have plans in the works to join the scooter craze, per reports.
