CircleUp, provider of an equity-based crowdfunding platform, has done some fundraising of its own, closing a $14 million Series B round led by Canaan Partners, with additional support from Google Ventures, Union Square Ventures, Maveron and Rose Park Advisors. The company helps accredited investors find free access to select private investments, making it easier for investors to identify, diligence and back companies they understand. Since its April 2012 launch, CircleUp has helped more than 30 companies raise over $30 million in growth capital.
The Series B financing, which will be used to invest in product and data analytics, follows a 2013 $7.5 million Series A round that valued the company at $28 million. Canaan's Dan Ciporin is joining the company's Board.
