Carlyle Names Co-Head of Infrastructure Fund

The Carlyle Group has named Robert Mancini a managing director and co-head of its Infrastructure Fund. Mr. Mancini is currently a managing director at Goldman Sachs and is responsible for power asset investments made through Cogentrix Energy. He also serves as Cogentrix's CEO. Earlier this month, Carlyle agreed to buy the North American power generation assets held by Cogentrix. Mr. Mancini will join Carlyle upon the completion of the acquisition, which is expected in 4Q 2012. He will be based in New York.
