Comcast NBCUniversal (NASDAQ: CMCSA) has agreed to purchase the 49% stake it doesn't already own in Universal Studios Japan from current partners Goldman Sachs, MBK Partners and other owners for ¥254.8 billion (about $2.3 billion), valuing USJ at ¥840 billion (about $7.4 billion) with the assumption of debt. The theme park opened in Osaka as an independent company licensed by NBCUniversal in 2001.
