Digital Realty to acquire DuPont Fabros in $7.6B deal

Digital Realty has agreed to acquire fellow data center operator DuPont Fabros in a stock transaction representing an enterprise value of about $7.6 billion. The deal adds DuPont Fabros' dozen data centers located in Northern Virginia, Chicago and Silicon Valley to Digital Realty's existing portfolio of 145 properties across 33 metropolitan areas around the globe. Shares of Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR) dropped around 3% on Friday, while DuPont Fabros (NYSE: DFT) stock gained nearly 10%.
