Dyal eyeing another $9B+ for passive investments in GPs

Neuberger Berman's Dyal Capital Partners has begun seeking commitments from LPs to raise $9 billion or more for its fifth flagship vehicle that purchases minority stakes in other alternative asset investors, according to Bloomberg. The news comes after Dyal's December announcement that its fourth flagship vehicle closed on $9 billion—the largest total raised for a fund dedicated exclusively to GP investing.

With 80% of its capital reportedly deployed, the firm's previous fund has purchased minority stakes in a range of firms including Owl Rock Capital Group, I Squared Capital, HIG Capital and Clearlake Capital Group. It also marked a massive step up from Dyal's third flagship fund, which brought in $5.3 billion in 2016.
