EssilorLuxottica offers to shed assets for GrandVision nod

French eyewear maker EssilorLuxottica has offered to sell assets in three EU countries in the hope of securing regulatory approval for its purchase of GrandVision, Reuters reported. EssilorLuxottica, which owns eyewear brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley, is looking to buy the Dutch opticians chain for €7.2 billion. The European Commission will decide April 12 whether to approve the deal.
