France's Veolia eyes waste-management rival Suez

Veolia Environnement is making a second attempt to acquire rival Suez. The French provider of energy services and water and waste management has offered €15.50 per share for an initial 29.9% stake. The proposed deal would be the latest in a series of acquisitions in the space. In March, KKR agreed to buy UK waste-management business Viridor for about $5 billion, while two years ago EQT bought Saur, a French water services group.
