Health Insurance Provider Oscar Raises $145M at $1.5B Valuation

Health insurance provider Oscar has received $145 million in financing at a reported valuation of $1.5 billion. Proceeds from the round, which was led by Founders Fund, will go toward expanding operations, developing new products and extending plans to new members across the U.S. Along with providing health insurance, Oscar offers technology that helps users speak with doctors and make appointments, as well as track visits, prescriptions and lab work. The company has roughly 40,000 members.
