Restaurants and Bars | Burton upon Trent, UK | Corporate Acquisition
Heineken has offered to sell a number of pubs in order to address concerns from the Competition and Markets Authority over its proposed takeover of nearly 2,000 Punch Taverns properties. The Dutch brewing giant said it would sell bars in 33 areas across the UK after the CMA found that the deal would reduce competition in those districts. A decision on the proposal is expected by 22 August. Heineken agreed to acquire Punch's pub portfolio for £350 million in December.
