Hike Messenger, the provider of a messaging app used primarily in India, has acquired former smartphone maker Creo. The 50-person Creo team will join Hike to work on a developer platform for Hike's existing services. Founded in 2013, Creo previously raised $3 million from Sequoia India, Beenext Ventures and India Quotient in 2016. Hike, meanwhile, raised $175 million in VC funding last August at a reported $1.4 billion valuation from backers including Tencent and SoftBank.
