Hopewell chairman offers $2.7B for company

A consortium led by company chairman Gordon Wu has offered to take infrastructure and property specialist Hopewell private for HK$21.3 billion (about $2.7 billion), according to Reuters. Trading of the company's shares resumed in Hong Kong on Thursday after being halted since Monday, with shares of Hopewell (HKG: 0054) closing the day up nearly 31%.
