IlluminOss Medical has sealed a $28 million Series C financing. The medical device company is developing orthopedic systems for bone fracture treatment. Tekla Capital Management and Life Sciences Partners co-led the round, which saw full participation from existing investors Foundation Medical Partners, Mieza Capital and New Leaf Venture Partners. Four more new investors also joined in the financing, including SR One, Excel Venture Management, Pappas Ventures and the Slater Technology Fund. IlluminOss now has $41.6 million in venture backing under its belt.
