Appature, a VC-backed provider of a cloud-based marketing software platform, has been acquired by IMS Health, a PE-backed provider of information, technology and services for the healthcare industry. Based in Seattle, Appature will continue to operate independently, retaining its existing management and headquarters location. The acquisition will accelerate Appature’s growth and global footprint, as well as provide customers a broader range of data, analytics and services. The company initially received $3.5 million in Series A funding from exiting investors Founder's Co-Op, Ignition Partners and Madrona Venture Group in 2009. IMS is backed by AlpInvest Partners, the CPP Investment Board, Leonard Green & Partners and TPG Biotech.
