Johnson Controls, Aqua Metals pen $11M partnership

Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) has agreed to back Aqua Metals (NASDAQ: AQMS), taking a 5% stake worth a reported $11 million in the developer of electrochemical battery recycling technology. In exchange, Johnson Controls will become the first licensee of the company's AquaRefining process and a supplier of batteries to recycle as a service.
