KKR Appoints New Chairman, CEO for KKR Japan

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has elevated Shusaku Minoda to chairman of KKR Japan from his current post as managing director and chief executive officer. The firm has hired Hirofumi Hirano as his replacement in the position. Both appointments are effective April 15. Mr. Minoda had served as managing director and CEO of the division for more than six years. As chairman, he will maintain relationships with the firm's business partners, key stakeholders and its government relations counterparts. Mr. Hirano joins KKR from AlixPartners Asia, where he was managing director and head of Asia Financial Service Industry Practice. KKR, a New York-headquartered firm, has invested more than $5 billion in 28 companies across the Japanese region.
