Lehigh Snags $16M to Advance MRPs Technology

Leaf Clean Energy has led a $16 million round for Lehigh Technologies, a sustainable materials company that makes micronized rubber powders from old tires and other post-industrial rubber. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Index Ventures and NGP Energy Technology Partners also invested. The fresh capital, which brings the company's total backing to $76 million, will help Lehigh expand its geographic reach and R&D initiatives. This is by no means Lehigh's largest financing, though—Index and KPCB led a $34.5 million round for the green products company in June 2008, and in January 2007 NGP led an $18 million infusion.
