Linde, Praxair tie-up faces US antitrust scrutiny

The US Federal Trade Commission is demanding further divestitures in order to greenlight the agreed merger between Linde and Praxair. Under the terms of the deal, both parties agreed that if regulators demanded the disposal of assets with more than €3.7 billion in sales or €1.1 billion euros in EBITDA, either side could withdraw without penalty. The tie-up between the industrial gases groups was originally agreed in December 2016.
