Lufthansa, Norwegian Air Shuttle deny interest in Alitalia

German airline Lufthansa (FRA: LHA) and budget operator Norwegian Air Shuttle (STO: NASO) have both denied reports that they are considering the acquisition of Italian counterpart Alitalia, per Reuters. The CEO of Malaysia Airlines has reportedly expressed interest in leasing planes from the struggling airline, however. Privately held Alitalia is backed by investors including fellow carriers Air France and Etihad Airways.
