Madison Dearborn Buys Schrader

Madison Dearborn Partners has completed its acquisition of Schrader International from Tomkins. The PE firm paid $505 million in cash, plus a small minority equity interest in the parent of the newly independent company. Schrader manufactures sensing and valve solutions as well as fluid control components for the automotive and industrial industries. Tomkins also has PE backing of its own, having been acquired by Onex and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in 2010.
