Marlin Equity Partners is furthering its healthcare investment strategy by acquiring MDeverywhere, a provider of physician revenue cycle management services. This is the private equity firm's second healthcare services-related acquisition this year. In January, it added on HDM Corporation's Qwik Cross Medicare Crossover Business to its MedAvant Healthcare Solutions.
There have been 36 other practice management transactions since 2006, the most recent of which was Marlin's acquisition of HDM Corporation's medicare crossover unit. The industry appears to be on the minds of many, as 31 private equity firms have made investments in the industry over the last three years. Parthenon Capital leads the pack of investors in the industry with four investments. Other notable investors with multiple investments include Francisco Partners, Beecken Petty O'Keefe & co, Halyard Capital and American Capital.
