Millennial Esports has agreed to acquire an 82.5% stake in French video game developer Eden Games for total consideration of €9 million. Millennial Esports will also have the option to purchase the rest of Eden Games for another €2.15 million for up to a year after the transaction closes. Founded in 1998 in Lyon, Eden Games specializes in designing racing games, including "V-Rally" and "Test Drive Unlimited."
The deal extends a notable acquisitive streak for Millennial Esports, owner and operator of a 500-seat e-sports venue in Las Vegas. The company has completed or announced four deals this year, including the acquisition late last month of IDEAS+CARS, an e-sports company based in the UK, and the purchase in May of Stream Hatchet, a provider of data analytics for video-game streaming.
In addition, Millennial Esports recently invested €2.5 million in online French TV network Alt Tab Productions, a Paris-based organizer of e-sports events. Shares of Millennial Esports (TSXV: GAME) gained almost 19% Tuesday.
