Monsanto has reportedly agreed to sell its branded cotton seed unit to India-based Tierra Agrotech in order to address a dispute with a former licensee in the country. Mahyco Monsanto Biotech, a joint venture between Monsanto and India's Mahyco, will reportedly still sell GMO cotton seeds to some 40 Indian seed companies. The agreed-upon $66 billion acquisition of Monsanto by Germany's Bayer remains under review by EU officials.
