GTCR has completed its acquisition of NewWave Communications from Pamlico Capital. GTCR made its acquisition through its partnership with Rural Broadband Investments. NewWave is a cable company that passes about 250,000 homes and serves over 90,000 customers in rural Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Arkansas. It's the first of several planned acquisitions for Rural Broadband, which is looking to acquire about 300,000 to 400,000 cable subscribers in small to mid-sized markets. Goldman Sachs and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey committed debt capital to support the transaction.
