Alternative investment manager Oaktree Capital Management has filed to go public. The firm currently has $80 billion under management spread out across a number of strategies including distressed debt, private equity, debt and real estate. The firm's close end funds, which account for 65% of its AUM, have combined produced a gross IRR of 20.4%. Oaktree as a firm, has been profitable 60 of the last 61 quarters and for 2010 reported a profit of $763.0 million on $1.3 billion of revenues. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are leading the underwriting of the offer.
