Software-defined networking vendor Xsigo Systems has agreed to be acquired by Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL). Venture-backed since 2004, Xsigo has raised funding from investors including Crosslink Capital, Greylock Partners, DAG Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, North Bridge Venture Partners, Presidio Ventures, TransLink Capital and more. The combination of Xsigo for network virtualization and Oracle VM for server virtualization will result in a bigger and better set of virtualization capabilities for cloud environments. The deal is expected to close this fall.
