Otto co-founder's new startup raises $40M Series A

Battery Ventures has led the round for Kodiak Robotics, a developer of autonomous technology for the long-haul trucking sector. The company was co-founded by Don Burnette, a co-founder of autonomous trucking startup Otto alongside Anthony Levandowski. Uber purchased Otto in 2016; several months later, Waymo, Levandowski's former employer, filed a trade secret lawsuit against Uber regarding Otto's technology, a move that led to Levandowski's exit.
