PE Exits More Closely Mirroring Investments

Hellman & Friedman and JMI Equity have completed their acquisition of Datatel from Thoma Bravo, Trident Capital, HarbourVest Partners and JP Morgan Asset Management for an estimated $570 million. The company provides technology products, services and insight to higher education. Thoma Bravo is reportedly earning a 4x return on its investment in the company, which was one of the largest investments made from its $554 million seventh fund. The consortium of investors acquired the company in 2006 for $265 million.
