PE Finding New Homes for Furnishings Through Peers
November 5, 2012- Share:
All in all, private equity firms have sold or taken public U.S. companies primarily involved in the Home Furnishings industry 55 times, according to the PitchBook Platform. IPOs, like the Restoration Hardware offering included in today's newsletter, only account for 7% of the exit activity, making taking a company public the least popular exit strategy. On the other end of the spectrum, with over 8x the share of IPOs, secondary buyouts lead the exit count, responsible for 60% of the activity. Most of those secondary buyouts have been on the smaller side with 65% being transactions under $250 million in size.
