PE Firms Interested in Troubled Silverton Bank

Silverton Bank, a banker's-bank providing services to community financial institutions, has received a number of investment proposals from several private equity firms. Last month, the bank was ordered by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to raise capital and improve its lending operations. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta earlier this month barred Silverton from a number of actions, such as paying dividends, until it had sufficient capital levels.
