PE funds amass $154B in 1H; can VC's record pace be sustained?

Through the end of June, private equity fundraisers had collected over $154 billion in commitments across 195 vehicles in 2016, on pace to match 2015 in volume and outperform in value. Their venture capital counterparts set an even more intense pace, raising a staggering $30.6 billion in 177 pools.
