Like the overall PE scene, the Logistics industry has seen an imbalance in exits and investments in the last few years. While PE investors have exited only seven Logistics-related companies since the beginning of 2009, they have completed investments in 68, according to the PitchBook Platform. Despite there having been only one exit in 2009, there were five in 2010. Investment activity, on the other hand, experienced a less dramatic increase over the same time period, rising from 30 completed deals to 33. With one completed exit and five completed investment deals so far, 2011 is off to a strong start. Since the beginning of 2009, 64 PE investors have invested in the Logistics industry. The most active include H.I.G. Capital with 4 deals and Charterhouse Group with 3.
