Bacchus Capital Management has provided Sbragia Family Vineyards with a significant amount of development capital. The company operates a winery in Dry Creek Valley. The investment will help SFV build its inventory and infrastructure as well as assist its distribution partner in expanding the reach of its brand. Bacchus is an investment firm that invests in U.S. wineries and wine businesses.
Since the beginning of 2007, PE investors have invested in 57 companies primarily involved in the Beverage industry, according to the PitchBook Platform. With 8 completed deals so far this year, 2011's deal pace is behind that of 2009 and 2010, years which saw 15 and 14 deals completed, respectively. However, 2011 is just one deal away from matching 2008's final deal count, and the year has also seen a greater percentage of platform investments. Buyouts have accounted for 63% of the activity in 2011 to date.
