November 19, 2012- Share:
From designer pumps to sneakers and cowboy boots, PE investors have set foot in several shoe-related companies. In fact, over the years, they've completed 102 investments in U.S. companies involved in the Footwear industry, according to the PitchBook Platform. Those target companies are scattered all over the country, covering 23 states in all, but over half of the activity has been concentrated in five states: California, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Colorado, and California is one step ahead of the rest of the pack, claiming a sturdy 21% share of the activity. So far this year, PE firms have tied the laces on a total of five Footwear-related deals.
