Media Services | Chicago, IL | Corporate Acquisition
The US Federal Communications Commission has denied a motion to extend the initial deadline for seeking information and public comment on the $3.9 billion acquisition of Tribune Media by Sinclair Broadcast. Opponents of the deal, including DISH Network and Public Knowledge, had filed for the extension and asked the FCC to reject the merger outright, arguing it would give Sinclair too much control over local broadcast television. Per the FCC's timeline, Sinclair and Tribune now have until August 22 to reply to the opposition.
