Our data shows that 45% of completed PE-backed IPOs this year have featured European companies, the continent’s largest percentage of the past decade. For comparison, about 32% of such flotations were from Europe in 2013 (just 21% in 2012). This year’s IPOs have mainly come in the B2B (34.7%) and B2C (30.6%) sectors. Overall, the strengthening Eurozone economy may have contributed to investors' enthusiasm for public offerings, while firms looking to cash in on pre-crisis investments have taken advantage of the optimistic atmosphere to make exits.
