Quintiles Transnational, a PE-backed healthcare services company, priced its IPO at $40 per share and joined the NYSE. It now trades under the symbol Q. PE shareholders Bain Capital, TPG, 3i Group and Temasek Holdings reduced their stakes in the offering. Based in Durham, NC, Quintiles provides biopharmaceutical development services and commercial outsourcing services to the pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare industries. Its shares closed at $42.11 on their first day of trading.
