Co-working space startup WeWork is planning a public offering, according to Reuters. Valued at $18 billion with a massive round in February, the company has become a breakout success and the most prolific of the many workplace rental startups that have cropped up in recent years, operating more than 100 locations throughout 16 countries and opening several new sites every month. The New York-based business is bringing in $1 billion a year in revenue, per Reuters.
WeWork has raised nearly $2 billion since it was founded in 2010, a figure that could more than double if an announced investment from SoftBank—which currently stands at $300 million—balloons up to $3 billion, a possibility that's been previously reported. Other investors in the company include Benchmark, Goldman Sachs, Wellington Management and T. Rowe Price.
