PE-backed Safety-Kleen has agreed to be acquired by Clean Harbors (NYSE: CLH) in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.25 billion. Committed financing for the deal has been secured from Goldman Sachs. Safety-Kleen, which has been in IPO registration since August, is a re-refiner and recycler of used oil and also provides parts cleaning and environmental services. Highland Capital Management is currently the company's largest investor.
