Searchlight-backed Roots looks to raise C$200 in IPO

Roots, a Canadian clothing and leather goods retailer, has reportedly filed for a C$200 million (about $164 million) IPO in Toronto that could value the company at some C$700 million. The news comes less than two years after company founders Michael Budman and Don Green sold the outfitter to Searchlight Capital Partners. Upon going public, the company will trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol ROOT.
