Stanley Black & Decker, Newell Brands complete ~$2B deal

Industrial tool company Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK) has acquired Newell Tools, a division of Newell Brands (NYSE: NWL) for $1.95 billion in cash. The transaction adds the Irwin and Lenox tool brands to Stanley Black & Decker’s portfolio, expanding its reach into the plumbing and electrical industries and bolstering its hand and power tool accessories businesses. The deal was originally announced in October.
