Telrad Networks Carving Out Alvarion Division for $6.1M

Telrad Networks, a telecommunications company backed by several private equity investors and owned by Fortissimo Capital, has agreed to acquire the carrier licensed division of Alvarion (NASDAQ: ALVR) for $6.1 million. Based in Israel, Telrad provides telecom equipment, solutions and services which facilitate communications between millions of end-users worldwide. Fortissimo bought a 39% share in the company from Koor Industries in 2004; Boston-based PE firm HarbourVest Partners also backs the company, as does Israeli venture firm Poalim Ventures.
