Bain Capital has completed its previously announced purchase of Diversey, a provider of hygiene and cleaning services, from packaging company Sealed Air for about $3.2 billion. Comprising the former Diversey Care division as well as Sealed Air's former food hygiene business, the newly spun-out company will provide various maintenance services for customers in the hospitality, healthcare, food service, and facility management sectors, among others.
Since the start of 2010, 56 private equity firms in the US have carried out at least one deal in excess of $3 billion, per the PitchBook Platform. Bain Capital has been among the more prolific, completing about one such deal per year during the current decade. So far this year, PE firms have now completed 14 deals worth at least $3 billion, on pace to edge past 2016's total of 18 such transactions.
