Toshiba and Western Digital have reportedly restarted talks as the embattled Toshiba continues seeking a buyer for its memory chip business. Bain Capital, SK Hynix and a pair of government-backed funds won the bidding war for the prized NAND flash-memory chips in June, but later backed out after Western Digital, a Toshiba production partner, sued Toshiba for failing to secure its consent to the sale. Western Digital previously bid 2 trillion yen (about $18 billion) for the asset.
