Toshiba's troubles finding NuGen buyer continue

Toshiba has revoked South Korean electric utility provider KEPCO's status as preferred bidder for the NuGen nuclear power project in the UK, according to Reuters, as the Japanese conglomerate struggles to secure a buyer following the bankruptcy of Westinghouse last year. The NuGen project was reportedly expected to generate 7% of the UK's electricity upon completion. French electric utility provider ENGIE transferred its 40% stake in NuGen to Toshiba last year due to significant challenges facing the project.
