Vista Equity Partners has raised nearly $10.5 billion for its sixth flagship buyout fund, according to SEC filings, confirming earlier reports that the vehicle would reach the rarified air of the $10 billion plateau. Vista initially sought between $8 billion and $10 billion for the fund but responded to investor demand with an uptick in size.
The fund continues Vista’s rapid ascent: Three funds and 10 years ago, the firm raised the relatively small amount of $1.3 billion for its Vista Equity Partners Fund III. Part of the reason for the firm’s rise? The standout 28.3% IRR of that decade-old vehicle.
