Western Digital to purchase Tegile Systems

One day after announcing its purchase of cloud services company Upthere, US data-storage business Western Digital has agreed to buy Tegile Systems, a provider of flash and persistent-memory storage technology for enterprise data centers. Western Digital is also reportedly nearing a $17.4 billion deal to acquire Toshiba's memory chip business. Tegile has raised more than $170 million in prior VC backing, including a $33 million round in April that valued the business at $450 million.
