National Savings Bank General Information
Description
National Savings Bank is a specialized commercial bank based in Columbo, Sri Lanka, owned by the Government of Sri Lanka. The bank provides financial products and services in Sri Lanka which includes savings, post office savings, pension savings, minor, teenage, ladies, and senior citizens accounts; term deposits, fixed deposits, national savings certificates, and gift tokens; and foreign currency deposits. NSB offers housing loans, individual/group personal loans, and loans against deposit; pawning facility; and corporate finance, including direct lending to financial institutions, loan syndication, and project lending. The National Savings Bank was established on March 16, 1972 with the merger of Ceylon Savings Bank, Post Office Savings Bank and Savings Certificates Section of the Post Master General's Department.
